Prayer Focus - May, 2008

Thursday - 1
Please pray for the new Russian president, Dmitry Medvedev, to protect religious freedom, so we will be able to continue to preach the gospel in Russia.

Friday - 2
“My son Roman and I became Christians through FEBC broadcasts. A teacher and some students at his school make fun of him because he believes in God. Please pray that God will help Roman handle that pressure.” Svetlana from Kazakhstan.

Saturday - 3
Ludmila Paliy, an FEBC broadcaster from Chernovtsy asked us to pray for Luba who recently lost her 30-year old son. Luba is very depressed and wants to commit suicide. Ludmila prayed for her and talked to her about FEBC radio. Please pray that Luba will find comfort and freedom in Jesus through our broadcasts.

Sunday - 4
“Thank you for your programs and prayers. I am pregnant and will give birth soon. Please pray for me and for my baby.” Oksana from Moscow.

Monday - 5
Inna from St. Petersburg asked us to pray for her co-worker Vera. Inna talked to her about Jesus, invited her to church, and together they have begun listening to FEBC broadcasts. “Please pray that Vera will accept Jesus as her Savior,” asked Inna.

Tuesday - 6
Please pray for Victor Akhterov, FEBC Russian Ministries’ Program Director. During this month he’ll be organizing small focus groups to determine how our programs influence the unchurched, our target audience.

Wednesday - 7
“I became a Christian because of FEBC broadcasts. I’ve been married for 22 years, and we have two sons (18 and 22). My husband doesn’t believe in God and wants me to denounce Him and stop going to church. He told me that I have to choose between him and God. I will never break my promise to God and will serve Him for the rest of my life. Please pray for my husband and my family.” Marina from Moscow.

Thursday - 8
Dmitry from St. Petersburg listens to FEBC broadcasts in prison. Recently he repented of all his sins and accepted Jesus as his Savior. “Please pray for me. I want to grow in my faith,” asked Dmitry.

Friday - 9
Please pray for Sergey Hudiev, an FEBC programmer in Moscow. His programs help listeners understand what Jesus did for us and how to become His follower.

Saturday - 10
FEBC listener Oleg writes: “Seven years ago my wife and I became Christians because of FEBC broadcasts. Our parents are non-believers, and we never had heard about salvation through Jesus Christ. We began to preach the gospel to everybody and everywhere, and Satan started to attack our family. Now we are praying about our marriage. My wife said she is discouraged and wants to leave me. Please pray for us.”

Sunday - 11
Matvey from Moscow just began to listen to FEBC broadcasts. “Thank you for your wonderful programs! When I was listening to a recent broadcast, I started to think about my life. I now realize I am a sinner and need Jesus. Please pray for me.”

Monday - 12
“This is my second marriage. When I was listening to your program, I accepted Jesus as my Savior. Now my husband wants to leave me. Please pray for us.” Nonna from Moscow.

Tuesday - 13
Please pray for Maria Romanova, an FEBC programmer in Moscow. Maria is a talented journalist and talks to non-believing intellectuals about God. Many of her listeners became Christians. Pray that they will grow in Christ.

Wednesday - 14
FEBC staff from Chernovtsy, Ukraine, asked us to pray for them and for our Ukrainian listeners. “Please pray that many unbelievers will come to know the Lord through our ministry.”

Thursday - 15
Please pray for Dmitry Suslov, an FEBC co-worker in Kazan, Tatarstan. Pray that God will bless his work, so that many Muslims will come to know the Lord through his ministry.

Friday - 16
Please pray for Rudi Wiens, FEBC Russian Ministries’ Director, as he travels extensively and makes many important decisions concerning the ministry in Russia. Also pray for his family while he is away.

Saturday - 17
FEBC staff from Chernovtsy, Ukraine, asked us to pray for a social worker named Lubov. She never expected that God could love her and would listen to her prayers. Lubov recently began to listen to FEBC broadcasts. Please pray for her.

Sunday -18
Eighty percent of new Russian marriages end in divorce. Pray that FEBC’s broadcasters will help save many families are on the brink of divorce through their programs.

Monday - 19
Nikolay and Anna from Chernovtsy recently began listening to FEBC radio. Though they are Orthodox Christians, they started attending an evangelical church. Please pray that God will show them the right way.

Tuesday - 20
Please pray for Dr. Evgeny Sarapulov, an FEBC programmer in Moscow. Evgeny is one of our most effective FEBC broadcasters. Many listeners have received help through his broadcasts and became Christians. Pray that God will continue to bless his work. Also pray for his family. Evgeny and Svetlana have four small children.

Wednesday - 21
Natalia from St. Petersburg asked us to pray for her mother who is seriously ill. “We listen to FEBC broadcasts together every day and thank God for you. Please pray that God will heal my mother.”

Thursday - 22
Please pray for all FEBC staff in Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. Pray that FEBC listeners will receive salvation through our broadcasts. Also pray for the staff’s families.

Friday - 23
Please pray for Natalia Chetverina, an FEBC programmer in Moscow, and for many listeners who became Christians through her broadcasts. Her program Hope for the Heart helped many families solve their problems. Pray for Natalia’s health.

Saturday - 24
FEBC listener Tamara from St. Petersburg region became ill and covets your prayers. “Your wonderful programs heal my soul; thank you. Please pray that God will heal my body,” asked Tamara.

Sunday - 25
Please pray for Tatiana Vaganova, an FEBC programmer in Moscow. Muscovites enjoy Tatiana’s programs and ask many questions about Christian life. Many of our young listeners became Christians through her broadcasts. Praise God!

Please pray for Gleb Ilinski, an FEBC broadcaster in St. Petersburg. Pray that many listeners will find freedom in Christ through his thoughtful and engaging programs. Also pray for his family.

Please pray for Nadezhda Svisheva, an FEBC programmer in Khabarovsk. Pray that many people will come to know the Lord through her ministry.

Please pray for Viktor Kurilenko, FEBC manager in Slavyansk, Ukraine. Pray that God will continue to bless his program Life and for all listeners who became Christians through his programs.

Please pray for many people in Russia and Ukraine who listen to FEBC broadcasts but still have not made a decision to accept Jesus Christ.

Please pray for Ludmila Aleksandrova, an FEBC broadcaster in St. Petersburg. She is a talented journalist and when she talks about God and His love, people receive salvation through Jesus Christ. Pray for these new Christians.
