Prayer Focus - August, 2008

Friday – 1
Andrei from Slavyansk, Ukraine, was a drug addict for a long time. Several years ago he became a Christian through FEBC’s broadcasts and began to preach the gospel at the Christian drug rehab center. God gave him a lovely wife and beautiful daughter. Recently he became a pastor of a small evangelical church. Please pray for Andrei and for his church.

Saturday – 2
Please pray that God will continue to bless FEBC Russian Ministries financially so we will continue to preach the gospel to millions of Russians and help them find the right way to salvation. Thank you very much for your prayers!

Sunday – 3
“Please pray for my daughter and her family. One year ago they got married and now they want to divorce. Pray that God will save their family and my children will come to know the Lord.” Alla from Moscow.

Monday – 4
“There is no church in my village and I fellowship with Christians mainly through your broadcasts. I am not a Christian yet but I believe in God. Many people in my village listen to your programs too. We want to be saved and commit our lives to Jesus. Please pray for us.” Valentina from Ukraine.

Tuesday – 5
Please pray for Gleb Ilinski, an FEBC broadcaster in St. Petersburg and for all listeners who found the way of salvation through his programs. They need to grow in their faith.

Wednesday – 6
“Dear friends, thank you for your broadcasts that lead me to know the Lord. I was a Muslim and now I am a happy Christian. Please pray for my father who is a Muslim and hates Christianity. He needs to receive salvation through Jesus Christ.” Adelya from Tadzhikistan.

Thursday – 7
“Dear brothers and sisters, I’ve been you listener for several years and thank God for your broadcast. Please pray for my grandson who became ill. I believe in your prayers.” Mikhail from Moscow.

Friday – 8
Please pray for Dr. Evgeny Sarapulov, an FEBC broadcaster in Moscow. He is a trained psychologist and helps people to come to know the Lord. Many listeners have received help through his broadcasts and now thank God and FEBC for the Christian broadcasts.

Saturday – 9
Ivan from Ukraine is on the way to salvation. “Dear friends, you can’t imagine how glad I am that I started to listen to your radio station. FEBC broadcasts became my daily spiritual bread. I have many questions about Christianity and would like to know more about God,” said Ivan. Please pray that Ivan will accept Jesus as his Savior.

Sunday – 10
Please pray for Sergey Hudiev, an FEBC programmer in Moscow. His programs about salvation through Jesus Christ help people become Christians. Many of them started to attend Christ-centered churches and tell people about FEBC broadcasts.

Monday – 11
“Dear friends, thank you for your programs that help me be strong at this difficult time of my life. My husband is a drug addict. Recently he began to listen to FEBC broadcasts and then he went to Christian drug rehab. Please pray that God will set free my husband from drug addiction.” Lubov from Khabarovsk.

Tuesday – 12
Please pray for our listeners in Khabarovsk, where FEBC operates first Christian station in Russia. Pray that many will come to know Christ during these summer weeks.

Wednesday – 13
Pray for Igor, who came to know Christ in Moscow through our broadcasts. Igor is a former alcoholic who is now free from this dependency. Pray that God will free thousands more.

Thursday – 14
“I just began to listen to your programs and understood that I am a sinner and need Jesus. Please pray that God will help me find a good church and Christian friends.” Maria from Moscow.

Friday – 15
“Dear friends, thank you for your programs that encourage me at this difficult time of my life. My wife Tatiana left me with our 3-year old son and now lives with another man. Please pray that God will reunite our family.” Viktor from St. Petersburg.

Ludmila Paliy, an FEBC broadcaster from Chernovtsy, says: “Please pray for our son Vadim who studies at the Musician University in Austria. Pray that God will be with him and watch over him when he is far from home.”

Sunday – 17
Please pray for Tatiana Vaganova, an FEBC programmer in Moscow. Many young listeners came to know the Lord through her programs and now tell their friends about FEBC broadcasts. Pray that many more Muscovites will find freedom in Jesus.

Monday – 18
Most of our listeners are the unchurched. Pray for God to draw our regular listeners to a fellowship of believers.

Tuesday – 19
Sergey Fomenko, FEBC’s administrative director, is asking for prayer in dealing with governmental representatives. “We feel more pressure from the government, and ask for your prayer support.”

Wednesday – 20
Mikhail from Chernovtsy, Ukraine, became a Christian through FEBC broadcasts. “Please pray for my wife and daughters that they will become believers too. We listen to your programs together and they like what they hear. Pray that our family will serve God,” said Mikhail.

Thursday – 21
Salim from Kyrgystan writes: “Thank you for your wonderful programs! Many of my friends and neighbors found freedom in Christ through FEBC broadcasts. We want to start a new church in our small city, but government doesn’t give us permit for it. Please pray for us.”

Friday – 22
FEBC staff from Khabarovsk asked us to pray for their listener Tamara. She is in a hospital after an accident. Please pray that God will restore Tamara’s health and help her entrust her life to Jesus.

Saturday – 23
Please pray for the relatives of alcoholics in Russia. Many of them do not have any support. Pray that they will be able to reach out to their drinking relatives through FEBC’s practical and Christ-centered support.

Sunday – 24
Rudi Wiens, FEBC RM’s director, asks, “Please pray that God would touch many in the new Russian government. We know that some officials listen to FEBC. Pray that God would work in their lives.”

Monday – 25
Please continue to pray for the new Russian president Dmitry Medvedev. Pray that FEBC will continue to reach millions under his rule.

Tuesday – 26
“Dear friends, I am not a Christian yet but I like to listen to your broadcasts. I believe in your prayers. Yesterday I found out that my husband is a homosexual. I am shocked and don’t know what to do. Please pray for me.” Mila from Moscow.

Wednesday – 27
Please pray for young teens addicted to alcohol. Pray that FEBC broadcasters will be able to share the Good News in a way that will reach them.

Thursday – 28
Please pray for Rev. Alexander Volkov in Ussuriysk. Long ago he became a Christian through FEBC broadcasts. Today, as a pastor, he is doing all he can to promote FEBC’s new FM station in his city. Pray that many will come to know the Lord in Ussuriysk.

Friday – 29
According to the Russian government, tens of thousands of Russian citizens are imprisoned unjustly because of a flawed legal system and corruption. Pray for FEBC’s efforts to (1) reach this prison population of one million and (2) promote justice in the Russian society.

Saturday – 30
Please pray for Natalia Chetverina, an FEBC programmer in Moscow. Her program Hope for the Heart helps people find freedom in Jesus Christ and teaches them how to follow Him.

Sunday – 31
“I believe in God and began to listen to your broadcasts. When I listen to you, I pray and ask God for forgiveness, but the next week I do the same sin. I am an alcoholic and can’t stop drinking. Please help me, pray for me!” Vitali from Omsk.
